Week of May 18th


Ride the Wave to Learning…

Reading- Students will finish reading the novel, Tale of Despereaux.

ELA/Science- Students will be researching a specific planet and creating a feature article on their given planet. Test grade in both ELA and Science.

Math- Students will be creating net towns. They will be given a theme and then use nets to create three dimensional shapes. Then creatively make a themed town out of the shapes.

Social Studies
- Students will be participating in Genius Hour. They will research a historic topic of their choice.

May 19th - BSIS Parent Orientation; 6:00pm @ BSIS for all 4th grade students
May 21st - Mini Relay for Life at OES
May 22nd – Field Day; Last Day of Palmetto Pals
May 25th – Memorial Day (No School)
May 26th – Fourth Grade Fun Day and Cookout
May 29th – 4th Grade Awards Day @ 9:30am
 
Surfer of the Week
The surfer of the week is Amiah. She has displayed the life skill of responsibility by turning in assignments on time. Way to go Amiah!

May 5th – EXCEL Parent Orientation; 5:30, 6:15, & 7:00 in Cafeteria; PTA Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night

May 7th – PASS Testing for 4th grade (Science)

May 8th – PASS Testing for 4th grade (Social Studies)

 

Surfer of the Week


The surfer of the week is Cole Roberts. He has displayed the life skill of initiative by always being willing to take action in all assignments. Way to go Cole!

Reminders for Testing:
-Make sure your child goes to bed early the night before.
-Be sure your child eats a well-balanced breakfast.
-Be sure your child is to school on time. Testing with his or her classmates in their typical classroom setting is best.
-Encourage your child to do his/her best.
