Week of February 23rd


Ride the Wave to Learning…

Reading- Students will learn about fables and determining the main idea and moral.

ELA- Students will learn about tall tale characteristics and begin to write their own tall tale.    

Math- Students will learn about decimals and comparing decimals to fractions.

Science- Students will continue learning about the reasons for the seasons and day and night. (Test on Planets, Seasons, and Day/Night Friday)

Social Studies
- We will begin discussing the branches of the government.

Surfer of the Week
 

Dante is the surfer of the week. He has shown the life skill of effort by always trying his best on every assignment. Way to go Dante!

Homework for the Week:
*Students need to memorize the Preamble. They must have it stated from memory by Wednesday February 25th.
*Students need to study their Astronomy notes. They will be tested on the planets, reason of seasons, and day/night.
*Study MAP study guide and get log signed.

Week of February 2nd


Ride the Wave to Learning…

Reading- We will continue our poetry unit. Students will learn about different types of poetry and finish their poetry notebook.

ELA- Students will learn the difference between tricky homophones. We will continue discussing Writing on Demand genre of writing.   

Math- Students learn how to multiply whole numbers and fractions.

Science- Students will begin learning about Astronomy. This week we will focus on the sun and planets. 
Social Studies
- We will begin discussing the establishment of the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution.

Feb. 3rd – PTA/Science Fair; 6:30pm in our school’s cafeteria

Feb. 4th- Technology Compliment Party

Feb. 6th – Ice Cream @ Lunch ($1.00)

Feb. 9th-13th – Jump Rope for Heart

Feb. 13th – 3rd 9-Weeks Interim Reports

Feb. 13th – Valentine’s Day Parties; 1:15-1:45 (Parents who are assisting can arrive at 1:00pm)

 

Surfer of the Week

 
Shelby Donatelli is the surfer of the week. She has shown the life skill of curiosity by asking interesting questions at the beginning of a new unit. Way to go Shelby!
