Week of February 2nd


Ride the Wave to Learning…

Reading- We will continue our poetry unit. Students will learn about different types of poetry and finish their poetry notebook.

ELA- Students will learn the difference between tricky homophones. We will continue discussing Writing on Demand genre of writing.   

Math- Students learn how to multiply whole numbers and fractions.

Science- Students will begin learning about Astronomy. This week we will focus on the sun and planets. 
Social Studies
- We will begin discussing the establishment of the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution.

News from the Beach…

Feb. 3rd – PTA/Science Fair; 6:30pm in our school’s cafeteria

Feb. 4th- Technology Compliment Party

Feb. 6th – Ice Cream @ Lunch ($1.00)

Feb. 9th-13th – Jump Rope for Heart

Feb. 13th – 3rd 9-Weeks Interim Reports

Feb. 13th – Valentine’s Day Parties; 1:15-1:45 (Parents who are assisting can arrive at 1:00pm)

 

Surfer of the Week

 
Shelby Donatelli is the surfer of the week. She has shown the life skill of curiosity by asking interesting questions at the beginning of a new unit. Way to go Shelby!

Read 30 minutes for 100 Book Challenge every night.
