Week of December 1st



Ride the Wave to Learning…


Reading- This week students will learn about paraphrasing text and presenting their findings about Green Inventions. In addition, they will learn about the Socratic Method to participate in a Socratic Seminar to present their opinions on loggers vs. environmentalists.


ELA- Students will learn the rules for using commas in their writing. In addition, students will be writing a letter to King George the Third as either a loyalist or patriot.


Math- This week we’ll begin discussing how to represent fractions, compare fractions, and placement of fractions on a number line.


Science- Students will continue learning about light and the properties of light.


Social Studies- Students will continue learning about the events that led to the American Revolution. (Test on Road to the Revolution Friday)

Dec. 19th – Half Day for Students; Dismissal @ 11:00am; Christmas Party at 9:30-10:15am




Surfer of the Week


Cole is our surfer of the week. He has displayed the life skill of sense of humor. He is able to make others laugh without hurting others. Way to go Cole!


Homework for the Week:
Read 30 minutes for 100 Book Challenge every night.
*Begin thinking about your Action Plan. See Action Plan Promise/Ideas sheets. Signed Promise sheet due Friday.
*Make Socrates Vocabulary flashcards….Due Wednesday
*Study Road to Revolutionary War notes (Test Friday)
